The product photos below were taken by me and refined through editing and compositing. With variations in layout and specifications, these were also adapted for physical display fixtures, digital campaigns, and product listings.
Project Introduction
Timeline: 2019 – 2022
Project Type: Commercial Photography & Retouching
Tools Used: DSLR Camera, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom
Photographer & Editor: Gawon Lee
Project Overview
During my role as Brand Designer at Kokie Cosmetics, I took full ownership of product photography for the brand. While my earlier experiences at Kiss Products and Absolute New York involved either separated or partially delegated photography responsibilities, Kokie was a new brand and I was the only designer there. With no photographer at all, I handled every aspect of product photography myself. For models, I sourced stock images and composited them into the visuals.
2. Wholesale Product Catalog
Project Introduction
Timeline: 2018
Project Type: Catalog Design, Product Photography
Tools Used: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; DSLR Camera
Designer & Photographer: Gawon Lee
Project Lead: Design Team, Absolute New York
Project Overview
At Absolute New York, nearly 90% of sales came through beauty supply stores across the U.S. For independently operated retailers, catalogs were an essential tool for convenient ordering, so printed books were regularly updated and placed in the binders of sales representatives.
This was a 120-page printed book, and I was responsible for approximately 20% of the total content. The sample below features 6 selected pages. Everything on these pages—from packaging and display design to product photography and page layout—was created by me.
